Frustration in the New Year

I've recently discovered that I can sit around all day and mess with my blog.

Today my problem is: the date on each of my posts is wrong. After doing about a million hours of research, I've found that this is a common problem on Blogger. I tried other templates; it's the same. I checked all my computer settings; they're all OK.

So much for that.

Glittery Christmas Stuff

This Santa was originally a boring white. This year I dolled him up in bright Southwest colors, stuck on a  bunch of paste gems and buttons, and added glitter to his beard. I like him this way!

I made a ton of Christmas ornaments out of tin can lids, and added some vintage beads and lots of bling.

I love sparkly trees. I added some chile lights to my little fake Alpine tree this year, and they look great with my Mexican tin ornaments.

(Note to self: in this post, I downloaded the images first, then added captions. Once again, I cannot add any text to the space above the first photo. Next time I will try typing the text first and inserting the photos.)

Practicing with photos

This is supposed to be a caption. But how do I get some text ABOVE the photo? We shall see.
I don't remember who I was in love with when this photo was taken. Probably more than one person. I was sitting in the Apple Tree in Mattituck, Long Island, and that shirt belonged to one of my sisters. I sincerely hope that she knew I was wearing it.

Am I crazy? Wait, don't answer that.

I think blogs are fun. I get sidetracked by them all the time while surfing the net. But they also seem self-indulgent, for the most part. Like, who really cares about the minutiae and detritus of other people’s lives? I heard somewhere that the average blog has one follower… the author.

On the other hand, it is a great way to keep a journal, something I’ve obsessively done for a good chunk of my life. I can make this blog as public or as private as I like. I can learn something about technology. I can proofread myself and edit myself, always good for keeping the brain sharp.  I can write down ideas and post pictures so I don’t forget what I’ve seen and heard.

Also, if I ever get my Etsy store going, I can link this blog to it.

I’m using Blogger (Google-based) because it seems easy; it looks like I don’t really have to learn HTML at this point if I don't want to.  Good.

Proper spelling will be mandatory here. But I do reserve the right to let a grammatical error slip by now and then. If you see one, please let me know...because if this were YOUR blog, you'd certainly be hearing from ME.
